POLICE are to spend an extra £130,000 in a crackdown on drunken anti-social behaviour in Greater Manchester.
Known hot-spots across suburbs in the region will be the focus of a three-month campaign targeting teenage gangs.
The cash for Greater Manchester Police comes after the Police Authority approved the funding at a recent meeting.
Each of the 12 divisions of Greater Manchester Police will be told to develop an action plan for their area.
Derek Osbaldestin JP, chairman of the Police Authority, said: "Both the Authority and the force are keenly aware of the blight that this type of behaviour inflicts upon communities and the fact that much of it can be traced to alcohol. The Authority is determined to support GMP in dealing robustly with this issue."
