A SHOP assistant was dragged into a back room and threatened with a gun by armed robbers.
The three-strong gang, who were all wearing balaclavas, stormed into Booze Busters in Firs Lane, Leigh.
They threatened a 25-year-old woman who was working behind the counter, and a woman who was in the shop at the time.
One of the men was armed with an axe and stood guard at the door, while the other two forced open the security door leading to the till area.
A robber dragged the terrified assistant into the back room and stole money from the safe.
He also grabbed her purse before the gang fled shortly before 6pm last Friday.
The gang ran down an alleyway opposite the shop.
