ANTHONY Axford Bolton League indoor cricket league results.
Round one: Egerton 92 for 4 (Anthony Clegg 30*, Ashley Marsden 21) Farnworth SC 94 for 4. The game went down to the final delivery when Ian Rushton clinched it for Circle.
Tonge 105 for 1 (Nigel Partington 25*, Jimmy Hill 19*, Alex Rodzoch 19, Adam Rodzoch 11) Farnworth 96 for 4 (Dave Tonge 56*). Adam Rodzoch completed a good all-round performance by taking 2 for 8 from three overs.
Westhoughton 70-1 (Rick Parker 28*). Westhoughton's below-par score was entirely due to Greenmount's four bowlers, each of whom bowled superbly.
They were Mark Stewart, Ryan Senior, Peter Kay and Martin Kay.
Greenmount 71-5, Andy Bowker and Martin Kay each hit 17 and were Greenmount's leading batsmen, but the game was only won with two balls to spare, as Adam Coates and Steve Parker both bowled very acurately.
Greenmount were cruising, having passed 50 with only one wicket down, but then the loss of four quick wickets meant that the tie was on a knife-edge at the end.
All three ties went down to the last over, the first one to the last ball.
Quarter-finals: Sunday, 12.45pm, Walkden v Kearsley; 2pm Eagley v Bradshaw; 3.15pm Farnworth SC v Greenmount (holders); 4.30pm Tonge v Little Lever.
