BOLTON Basketball Club had an exciting finale to their game against MBC Giants, a team well coached, disciplined and full of youngsters.

The game began well with both teams ending the first quarter tied at 20. The second quarter saw Bolton fall behind as missed shots and poor defensive decisions gave the visitors a four point lead at the half.

The third quarter was Bolton's worst, lazy defense and the inablilty to stop the shooters saw the visitor's lead grow as MBC went on a 12-4 run to end the quarter.

Bolton had yet to play their best basketball and with three minutes remaining and down by 12, the game seemed out of their reach. Steve White hit three consectutive three's and another by Mike Nichols saw the lead cut to three with 8 seconds left. Bolton brought the ball up the court and a last second shot by Greg Sanderson hit the back of the rim and fell down, only missing the basket by inches.

This showed good fighting spirit by the home team, but with the quality of players they have, the result was still a disappointment.
