THE first round of the BGA Jack Taylor Trophy brought a shock result when League Champions Chorley were whitewashed 5-0 by their old rivals Deane.
Despite home advantage with three matches played at home and two away, fortress Chorley was stormed by the Deane team with some convincing wins.
Jamie Barr and Greg Warren led the charge with a 2&1 win over Mike Brindle and young Andy Palmer.
This was followed by resounding victories by Andy Pilling and Steve Barrett, 4&3 winners against the Hargreaves brothers, and a 7&6 win by Nigel Lowe and Andy Gibbons over Joe Heald and Joe Morris.
Deane now visit Bolton Golf Club in the second round.
Horwich also won through 3-2 after a hard fought match against Turton.
Horwich pairing Paul Warren and Brian Hill were taken to the 19th hole before claiming their victory, and Mark Oldham and Steve Crompton fought back from four down after four holes to win 3&2.
Horwich now have an away tie at Harwood.
