A COMPANY director from Rawtensall is recovering in hospital after his leg was shattered in a burglary at his home.
Richard Swift, executive director of Bolton-based Industrial Technology Investments, at Gilnow Mill, suffered severe bruising and a shattered leg which had to be pinned together in an operation at Fairfield General Hospital, Bury.
His partner suffered a broken arm and an Audi A3 Sports Quattro was stolen from their home in Rawtenstall after the keys were taken.
Speaking from his hospital bed, Mr Swift said: "My left leg was shattered. It has had pins attached to try and pull the bone back into place."
Two men have been charged with aggravated burglary and two counts each of wounding with intent in connection with the incident.
