RAMSBOTTOM United manager Lee Sculpher thinks his side's performances are steadily improving and is hoping the rewards will be three points over high-flying Salford City on Saturday writes Marc Higginson

The Riverside team have taken four points from their last two games after beating Congleton and drawing with Squires Gate. And, player-manager Sculpher can't wait to get back into action this weekend.

He said: "We deserved our win at Congleton and were unfortunate not to win at Squires Gate.

"At Squires Gate, they tried to steamroller us and they tried to beat us by playing a physical game, but we adjusted to it and, but for some excellent defending, we would have taken the three points.

"The performances have been pleasing for a while now and they are getting better by the week.

"It's good to be at home this weekend and, hopefully, we can get a win against one of the division's in-form teams."

And, the manager was pleased that one of his tactical decisions paid dividends at Squires Gate.

"I put (striker) Anthony Johnson on the right wing on Saturday and he ended up scoring a superb goal after the ball was passed from left to right,"enthused Sculper.

"With the pitch in a poor condition I decided it would be a good move to have Anthony on the wing. He also gave us some added height over there.

"I have got some good options up-front now and they all deserve to play. They are all chomping at the bit, but its my decision to make the decisions that benefit the team."

For the weekend clash, Jason Jones (ankle), Darren Rodgers (ankle) and Ryan Dervish (knee) are all rated as doubtful.

Saturday's game kicks-off at 3pm.
