Your correspondent Peter Johnston is mistaken in his contention that Manchester does not have a multiplex cinema in the city centre.
It has two: the Filmworks, in the Printworks complex next to the Arndale Centre, and the AMC, in The Great Northern on Deansgate.
Both have been built during the last five years or so, perhaps heralding a return to city centre entertainment.
Perhaps Mr Johnston should follow his own advice to Gary Yates, and get about more!
