A PUBLIC meeting is to be held on Monday evening to give people the chance to have their questions answered on the proposals aiming to transform health services in Bury.
The event will take place at Bury Town Hall's Elizabethan Suite at 6.30pm to provide members of the public the opportunity to find out more about the 'Healthy Futures' and 'Making it Better' proposals. Under the plans, which have both been launched for public consultation, Fairfield Hospital could lose its maternity department, including its special care baby unit, and acute surgery but more hospital services would be brought into the community with the development of six major new health centres in Bury.
People attending on Monday will get the chance to put their questions to a panel of health experts with the Healthy Futures section at 6.30pm followed by Making it Better at 8pm.
Videos explaining the proposals will be shown and at 9pm there will be the chance to have individual discussions with representatives from Bury Primary Care Trust.
The meeting is expected to end at 9.30pm .
