HIGH visibility police foot patrols in Bury town centre during the last month led to a largely trouble free festive period.
Despite Bury town centre attracting more night time visitors to pubs, bars and clubs than ever before, Operation Lazne has been hailed a huge success in keeping visitors safe by police chiefs.
A large number of police officers patrolling town centre streets as well as licensed premises led to 90 arrests being made over the festive period for a variety of offences ranging from minor public order to the possession of drugs.
