PROPOSALS to erect a mobile phone mast will be presented to Horwich planners this week.
Plans to install the antenna in the chimney stack in the building occupied by Leach Brierly Accountants, near the junction of Lee Lane and Winter Hey Lane, have been submitted by O2 UK Ltd.
The application proposes the re-building and extension of the existing red brick chimney. The proposed mast would then be put inside the stack.
The phone company say the antenna is needed for improved coverage in the area. The site was deemed the best out of four options, being thought to have the least visual impact on the surrounding area.
No objections have been received, and the plan is in line with Bolton Councils planning policy.
The plans will go before Horwich planners on Thursday at 7.30pm at the Public Hall in Lee Lane.
