RESIDENTS living in fear of thugs have thanked police and council bosses for cleaning up their area.
People living on an estate in Radcliffe complained about youngsters, who were making their lives unbearable.
The yobs were told that unless their behaviour improved they could face anti-social behaviour orders.
Four of them signed acceptable behaviour contracts, vowing to change their behaviour.
Insp Steve Clark, head of the Radcliffe area policing team, said: "We recognise that people are very concerned about youth nuisance and other issues which affect the quality of their life. Our aim is to share information and pool our resources to find a resolution for the decent people of Radcliffe."
Local people sent a thank you card to the area committee.
Cllr Sharon Briggs, councillor for Radcliffe North, said: "We're delighted that the youngsters concerned have signed these agreements which I feel demonstrates their willingness to co-operate and act in a sensible, mature manner."
