BOLTON South-east MP Brian Iddon is encouraging youngsters in his constituency to get involved in two cancer projects.
Macmillan Cancer Reliefs education scheme, Cancertalk Week, will be held next week and the charity's annual fundraising event for schools, the Big Hush, will be held on Friday, January 27.
Each year more than 1,500 children are diagnosed with cancer and although the majority of them will recover, there are man fears and misconceptions surrounding the disease.
Dr Iddon said: "It's vital that we dispel some of the myths surrounding cancer so that children and young people are better equipped to understand the disease."
