AS I was coming out of Bury indoor market recently, I noticed some free leaflets on Bury town centre.
They seem to be from Bury Metro. Right in the middle on The Haymarket was marked the Post Office!
Of course, as we all know, the post office has not been there since June 2005, and the knowledge of its closure must have been known much earlier than that.
There still isn't a post office - of any kind, large or small - in the area covered by this map.
Many people come from near and far to visit the market and various other amenities in Bury. I hope they never want anything other than a first or second-class stamp to post anything.
I also noticed that a number of shops have recently closed in that area. If the post office authorities are looking for a suitable place, now is the time to start negotiating.
How much longer do we have to put up with not having a central post office?
