CRIME in Bury fell by 1.6 per cent during 2005.
The statistics, released by the BurySafe partnership on Tuesday, also showed that vehicle crime fell, with 67 fewer crimes than the previous year.
Cllr Tony Isherwood, executive member for safe and secure communities, said: "Since the introduction of BurySafe and the Area Tasking Team we have been able to work with the public and tackle all areas of crime, we are very delighted with the result."
