RADCLIFFE Boro have completed the signing of former Burnley and Accrington Stanley winger Matty O'Neill.
The 21-year-old winger had a spell on loan at the beginning of the season at the club and manager Kevin Glendon has been keeping a check on his developments at Accrington Stanley ever since.
The Accrington-born attacking player has cancelled his contract by mutual consent after speaking to Glendon and this has enabled the 'Boro' manager to act quickly and secure the services of the exciting winger.
The former Burnley player, who made 13 first team appearances for the Lancashire club, is a player the manager believes can be an asset to the club in the future and said: "I am delighted to sign Matty full time for our club and believe he can develop into a very exciting player for the club in the future.
"He is only 21 and I feel he can add a great deal to our team in an attacking sense. I thought he did well for us in his loan spell and at that time I wanted to spend some time with him in relation to how I see where he could improve his game for the benefit of the team.
"However, it is never easy to do that with a player on loan but now I will get the opportunity to do so."
After returning from Radcliffe, the winger had found it hard to break into the current conference league leaders Accrington Stanley and Glendon saw an opportunity to bring the player to the Inn2Gether stadium.
The manager added: "I am sure Matty will prove to be an excellent signing for the club, he has an excellent attitude and the right manner and is willing to learn.
"He now needs to settle down and play regular firstt team football and prove to himself and others he can progress further on the football ladder from Radcliffe Borough as others have done in the past."
