THE future looks bright for a Bolton actor who made his TV debut in a time-travel cop drama on Monday night.
Former Canon Slade pupil Timothy Platt, aged 24, appeared in the hit BBC series Life on Mars - along with stars John Simm and Philip Glenister.
Timothy, who studied for an acting degree at the Arden School of Theatre in Manchester, played a main character - deaf road sweeper Leonard Pitt.
Although the appearance was a one-off, Timothy hopes the performance will lead to more work. Timothy, who lives with mum Barbara and dad David in Morris Green, said: "It was a fantastic experience to work with such great actors on an equally great show.
"It was filmed in May in Manchester and Stockport. My parents were both involved in amateur dramatics so they're both very proud - mum's actually gone a bit crazy with pride."
Before securing the role, Timothy, who attended Heathfield Primary School, Bolton, performed in a national theatre tour of Charlotte's Web.
