TYLDESLEY Little Theatre is looking forward to welcoming local audiences back to Lemon Street for another year of quality drama, beginning with the sparklingly spooky comedy thriller Wanted - One Body, written by Charles Dyer.
According to director Denis Beardsworth, the production, running from Tuesday, January 31, to Saturday, February 4, 'promises perfect entertainment for a cold, dark winter's night.'
"It's a revival of of a classic comedy thriller, first performed at TLT with great success in February 1982. We are offering the fresh revised version, which is updated yet still comes complete with an old dark house, will readings and vanishing bodies."
Expect cheerful chills and ghoulish gags as two hapless solicitors, a mournful undertaker and a barking mad doctor find themselves trapped in a spooky house full of victims, red herrings and secret passages for them all to vanish into.
Our heroes would love to get out but the body that they have come to read the last will and testament for refuses to take it all lying down.
The cast of the show features a refreshing mix of old and new - popular regulars such as Garth Waddup and Andrea Peters are joined by new faces Billie Raynor, Carol Roscoe and Jon Dawson, and audiences can also look forward to a fine comic turn from award winning legend Frank Bowdler, who returns to the Lemon Street stage for the first time since December, 2002.
Tickets are available from the usual box office numbers - 01204 655619 (manned regularly) or 01942 886908 (Tuesday and Thursday).
