A FRESH appeal has been made for two 'Good Samaritans', who helped a pensioner who fell and broke his hip, to come forward.
Alan Grundy, aged 66, of Halliwell, Bolton, had celebrated the New Year with his brother in pubs in the town centre, but woke up the following day in hospital.
He does not remember how he was injured but it is believed he fell or was hit by a car as he walked along Deane Church Lane, Deane, at around 5pm.
Two Asian men helped him and called an ambulance. Detectives are keen to trace the men, who may have seen what happened to Mr Grundy.
Sgt Martin Bell, of Bolton Police Robbery Unit, said: "Mr Grundy woke up in hospital and thought he had been the victim of a robbery because he couldnt find his mobile phone. His brother told us he was called by two Asian men who told him his brother was going to hospital.
"We need the two Good Samaritans to come forward."
