LUTON manager Mike Newell claims to have evidence the director of a rival club offered him a bribe.
Newell has alleged that underhand payments are regularly being offered to managers by agents or club officials as 'sweeteners' to hasten transfer moves.
He will meet Football Association officials early next week to further discuss his allegations and the issues they raise - a summit that leaves him undaunted.
Newell has given fresh detail to his allegations, and he is today reported to have said he can prove that the accusations he is making are true.
He said: "I have the evidence and I will give it to the FA.
"I will present evidence of how a club official, a director, offered me a sweetener - a bribe - to sell him one of our players when we (Luton) were in administration.
"Perhaps I should have been shocked, but you know this kind of thing goes on."
