A BUTCHERS' support group is trying to the find the North-west's best young sausage maker.
The British Pig Executive is appealing to butchers across Bolton to enter their products at BPEX's roadshow competition next week.
There are 10 categories for entry for butchers from traditional pork sausage to ready meals, as well as the new category of best young sausage maker - which is open to apprentices or students under the age of 25 who are working for independent outlets.
Keith Fisher, BPEX butchery and product development manager, said: "All products entered into the product evaluation event will be critiqued by industry experts who provide valuable feedback and advice."
For more information about the event, to be held on Wednesday, January 18, at Preston North End Football Club, call Jackie Hawkes on 01908 844 107.
