Thank you to the GMPTE, for its advertisement in the Bolton Evening News, requesting people to attend a Town Hall meeting to discuss public transport.
One point must be mentioned, if GMPTE wants to know the views of the frequent public transport user, then why have the meeting on a weekday between 9.30 and noon when people are inevitably at work and will find it difficult to take the time off.
This is yet again, nonsense by the GMPTE.
If they had not realised by now, the people of Bolton are really getting fed up with the way the GMPTE treat us.
What new initiatives are actully being done in Bolton - Real Time displays, as mentioned quite a few times in the letters section. They have been on the bus stops for almost two years now and yet they are still not being used - the excuse being that First Bus are awaiting new buses to use them. So why have First Bus sent new buses to their HQ in Oldham and we only receive eight which are used on a route where there is no Real Time display units? (route 575).
GMPTE is more concerned about the tram system and making sure it gets the funding for it. This is useless for the people of Bolton as the tram will more than likely never reach Bolton, so what are they doing to improve the infrastructure of public transport in the town. NOTHING.
Come on GMPTE, get your act together, work for the people.
The GMPTE needs to work with the people to either improve the bus network in Bolton and/or try to improve FirstBus.
