TWO women directors have been appointed to help lead the probation service covering Bolton and Greater Manchester.
They are former Deputy Chief Officer Chris Noah and Roz Hamilton.
Mrs Noah has taken up the new post of Director of Interventions and will oversee the delivery of interventions for offenders and support services.
This includes unpaid work,(which used to be known as community punishment, programmes, provision of accommodation in approved premises (hostels) human resources and information technology.
Mrs Hamilton is the new the Director of Offender Management and will direct services provided to manage offenders across Greater Manchester's 10 districts.
This involves making sure that the risk to the public from individual offenders both on orders in the community and on release from prison - is identified and effectively controlled.
The appointments follow a reshuffle of probation in Greater Manchester to reflect the changes resulting from the Criminal Justice Act 2003 and the development of the National Offender Management Service.
