THE Mayor of Bolton's charity earthquake appeal was given a boost when he was presented with a cheque for £180.
Fundraisers collected the money during the Black and Asian Young Persons Achievement Awards held at the Festival Hall in Bolton.
The money will go towards Cllr Frank White's appeal. It was set up in the wake of October's disaster in Pakistan which killed 73,000 and left more than one million homeless.
A total of £25,000 has already been raised to help in the affected Kashmir region - £5,000 more than the original target.
