FORMER Atomic Kitten singer Jenny Frost is urging local women to ensure they are "breast aware" in a bid to prevent cancer.
Jenny, from Prestwich, has teamed up with Breakthrough Breast Cancer to raise awarenessof the importance of early detection of the disease.
She has helped launch a national tour and is preparing to walk the Great Wall of China to raise funds for the charity.
She said: "Although Ive never been affected by breast cancer, one in nine women will develop it during their lifetime, so we should all do something to help fight it, no matter how big or small."
Dr Sarah Rawlings, from Breakthrough Breast Cancer, said: "Awareness means knowing what your breasts look and feel like normally."
