THE Imperial War Museum North on Trafford Wharf Road in Salford Quays has opened a small but powerful exhibition of 30 photographs from the archives of RIA Novosti, one of Russia's premier news agencies.
The impact of a century of upheaval and some of the major conflicts of 20th Century world history are revealed through the lenses of RIA Novosti photographers, against the backdrop of the Soviet Union's ideological struggle against capitalism; from the Russian Revolution in 1917, through the Second World War and the Cold War, to the end of communism in the Soviet Union in 1991.
The exhibition runs until June 4 and admission is free.
