THIS mystery of Christmas trees around Entwistle Reservoir began five years ago in 2001.
Being lovers of Entwistle Reservoir from many, many years of walking round, my friend and I thought it would be nice to do something to brighten things up for the winter.
Being near to Christmas time, we decided to decorate a holly bush.
This took off with great joy and Marianne, being German, thought about what they did in Germany for Easter. So then we decorated a tree with bunnies, eggs and chicks. This we have done for a few years now.
I must say, we did not expect it to take off like it has done. The trees we have decorated over the years have never been vandalised, but things have been taken off.
We are glad that it has given people so much pleasure. We plan to carry on for years yet.
