A MEMBER of the public called the fire brigade when he thought he saw smoke rising from Smithills School, which was attacked by arsonists a week ago.
Firefighters from Bolton North fire station arrived at the school at 2.30am on Friday.
There was no fire, but steam could be seen coming from a vent.
A blaze broke out in the east wing of the upper building of the school in Smithills Dean Road, Bolton, last Saturday. Three classrooms were wrecked and six others left smoke damaged. Police believe arsonists are to blame.
