CONVICTED drink drivers are now facing problems getting covered for house insurance.
That's the warning from the TTC Group which is the UK's largest provider of training courses for offenders, and runs alcohol awareness courses in Bury and elsewhere in the county.
Motorists already get a lengthy driving ban, hefty fine and higher future motor insurance after being convicted for drink-driving. It can also result in the loss of their job if driving is required for part of their work.
Now the TTC Group say that some motorists are being refused house insurance. Director Jenny Wynn said: "We are advising our course attenders to always contact their home insurers to report details about their criminal conviction."
