BROTHER and sister judo stars Lauren and Deklan Gibbons are heading for the top.
The talented duo, from Mill Lane in Leigh, have been selected as Great Britain Cadets and are now seeking sponsorship to help pay their way to international training and competitions.
Lauren, aged 13 and Dekland, 12, train on the World Class Training Programme, a British Judo Association Scheme which aims to identify the best young stars in the country and nurture the most promising for future success at senior level.
They have both won many titles this year including the Scottish Championships, Greater Manchester Youth Games, British Cadet Championships and the North West Four Counties Championships - a competition that Deklan has won for four years in succession at three different weight categories.
Proud mum Sonya said if any firms or individuals are able to help with sponsorship, they can contact her on 01942 635260.
