REGARDING the letter from Kathleen Gee about the £70m tower block plans ('Make your feelings known over £70m building plans', Letters, December 29).

I think the council must have decided that Christmas is a good time to bury bad news and not get us rate-payers involved in their proposals.

I suggest that the proposed 14-storey tower block right in the centre of Bury be replaced by a permanent post office for the town.
