A FORMER Bolton woman has been honoured for her charity and community work.
Renee Cooper, who died in 2002 aged 73, moved to Northern Ireland with her husband James in 1964.
A portrait of her has been unveiled in memory of her contribution to the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign and the Warrenpoint community in Northern Ireland, where she lived.
Mr Cooper, aged 78, who used to live with Renee in Viking Street, Bolton, said: "I feel very proud of her and happy that her work, which took up a big part of her life, has been appreciated and marked in this way. It is a lovely painting."
The portrait was hung at Warrenpoint Town Hall by Newry City Council.
