Relatives of a British student battered to death at a beach resort in Thailand are heading to the country.
Katherine Horton, aged 21, was speaking on her mobile phone to her mother Elizabeth at home when there was a scream and the line went dead.
Her father Ian has flown out to to meet UK officials in Thailand and her brother Richard is heading there from his home in Australia.
Katherine, from Cardiff, had travelled to the holiday island of Koh Samui to see in the New Year with her friend Ruth Adams.
It was on New Year's Day that Ruth last saw her alive, taking a phone call as she sat on the beach near where they were staying.
The next day a jet skier found Katherine dead in the sea.
A post mortem examination showed she had been hit with a blunt object before being dragged and thrown into the water.
