IN reply to Mr Phil Platt, Great Lever, 'A bad service is better than none at all' - that is why it is a bad service!

Sometime past when dining at a restaurant in the USA, the people on the next table complained to the waiter and returned a full meal as being unsatisfactory and substandard to what they had ordered. Bus passengers deposit litter on to the floor of the vehicles which they are travelling on, but that, in my opinion, is not dirt.

Filthy windows, seats that are uncleaned, and bodywork unwashed is dirt.

Once upon a time, Boltons fleet of buses was washed and valeted on a regular basis religiously, and no driver or conductor would leave the bus depot unless it was so.

Some passengers, with their disregard for authority, do not help matters and create problems, but the poorest of the poor do not have to be unwashed.

This once great country of ours is far behind in its service industries, and with our acceptance of poor service means that in the future it becomes the norm.
