JARED Borgetti could be on his way back to Mexico.

The frustrated striker, who joined Wanderers in a £1 million transfer from Pachuca in August but has yet to start a Premiership game, is wanted by top Mexican club, Guadalajara.

Media reports in Mexico City claim that Nestor De la Torre, football director of the powerful Guadalajara club, is flying to England to negotiate a two-year deal with the 32-year-old, known as the Desert Fox.

Guadalajara, who employ only Mexicans, are looking to strengthen their side this month and have been alerted to Borgettis situation at Bolton, where, despite his prolific scoring record at club and international level, he has been unable to establish himself in Sam Allardyce's front line.

He has scored four goals - two in the UEFA Cup and two in the Carling Cup - but his only Premiership action has been as substitute on seven occasions.

Two weeks ago Allardyce quashed suggestions that he would sell Borgetti in the transfer window, claiming that, with such a small squad and with the African Nations Cup robbing him of four players, he would be cutting his throat if he let any players leave.

The player had also told friends he wanted to stay at the Reebok and fight for his place, but weekend press reports claimed he was reluctantly looking for a move to another Premiership club to improve his prospects of first team football.
