PLANNING chiefs look set to approve three new applications to erect mobile phone masts across the borough.
Telecommunication giant T Mobile want to build a 12 metre high mast at a site opposite Greenwood Lane in Hardy Mill Road, Turton, and a 14-metre high monopole on a footpath North-west of Moss Bank Way and Doffcocker Lodge.
O2 also want to build a 12-metre high antennae and two equipment cabinets at the W Martin & Sons Haulage yard, off James Street, Westhoughton.
Neighbours have objected to all three proposals on a number of grounds including health fears, although planning law prevents these considerations being taken into account by councillors on the planning committee.
Officers in Bolton Council's planning department are recommending that all three proposals are given the go ahead. Councillors on the planning committee will have the final say at their meeting on Thursday, January 5.
