AS BOLTON braces itself for a big chill, the RSPB has issued an appeal for people to feed birds in their gardens this winter.
The RSPB is asking people to put food out regularly and set up bird tables; supply fresh tepid water and put out fruit - such as apples and pears. Food bars or fat should be hung up or rubbed into the bark of trees.
