FOLLOWING last week's postponed fixture, Standians found themselves in sixth place in the league with up to three games in hand on the sides above them.
Although sixth place looks bad, following the good start to the season, confidence remains high as improved form looks to have returned.
Manager, Neil Aldred, made examples of key players following poor discipline in recent fixtures.
Leading scorer Steve Abbott was dropped to the bench and replaced by Tom McKenna, and had it not been for the late withdrawal from the squad of captain Stephen Critchley, the same fate would have been dealt to Iain Yeates.
As it turned out he produced one of his best performances so far to help Standians claim their sixth win of the season.
They didn't start the game well on the frosty Bowlee pitch and were pegged back by an early goal from the Dynamos' skipper.
Rhys Yeates didn't keep the defensive line, commanded by the returning Oliver Seaborn, and played the lively striker onside.
He burst through and finished well inside five minutes.
Standians didn't bounce straight back and were on the back foot for the next 10 minutes until Iain Yeates drew the sides level.
His run from midfield wasn't picked up and a neat touch by McKenna released him.
His first shot was saved, but he quickly fired in the rebound only for that to be saved too, by the athletic Dynamos' keeper, but he did smash his third attempt into the top corner.
At half-time Neil Aldred replaced Damien Riley with Simon Nolan and he had an immediate impact.
Offering more strength in the middle of the park, he began spreading the play wide, but not before a long ball from Iain Yeates to the in-form Gaz Perkin resulted in Standians' second.
Perkin controlled the it well and held off the challenge of a defender before slotting home.
Jepson was the provider of the third goal when his fine run was picked out, again by Iain Yeates.
Jepson smashed a low cross into the box and Abbott was on hand to steer home, seconds after going on.
Dynamos did pinch a goal back to make it 2-3 with ten minutes to go.
A through-ball released their captain once again, Hinchy hesitated and appeared to be pushed, as the Dynamos leading scorer fired home from 12 yards.
But within two minutes Standians sealed the victory.
Abbott turned provider after rounding the keeper and squared the ball to Jepson, who had the simplest of tasks, finishing from two yards into an empty goal.
Perhaps it was Abbott's way of proving his worth to the Whitefield side.
