ANYONE who sells food will have to comply with new legislation from January 1 next year.
The Food Hygiene Laws will affect more than 1,400 businesses in the borough, from caterers, farmers and manufacturers to distributors, shops and even people selling 'home cooking'.
The changes cover schools, hospitals, nurseries, homes for the elderly, pubs, restaurants and any other premises which prepare food for the public. One of the main changes of the law, which is a mixture of EU and UK regulations, concerns the need to document how food safety is being managed. Detail on (0161) 253 5566.
