POLICE were due to interview a man who took down "Welcome to Lancashire" signs including some in Bolton as part of a campaign to restore the county's traditional boundaries.
Pressure group CountyWatch removed roadside signs just outside Horwich on the A673 leading to Chorley, and north of Belmont on the A675.
Lancashire County Council made a formal complaint after the removal of 34 signs by the group. Organiser Tony Bennett said he had been asked to appear at Blackburn police station on Friday for questioning.
The county boundaries marked by the signs were created as part of the Local Government Act in 1972.
