GREEN-fingered Bolton folk will get a chance to help create a new wood this weekend.
The Woodland Trust's Trafalgar Woods Project is appealing for volunteers to join them on the edge of the hill between Eccleshill and Darwen, visible from the M65.
The project will see the creation of 33 woods throughout the UK to mark the bicentenary of Nelson's victory at Trafalgar - one wood for each ship in his fleet. Access to the land is via Knowle Lane.
The event begins at 10am and lasts at 2pm.
