SO, Sainsbury's are returning to Prestwich. Why do they think they will do more business than before?
The management may have known that the original store had been trading at a loss for years but staff certainly didn't.
I worked at Prestwich where staff and loyal customers were treated, in my opinion, disgracefully.
There wasn't any intimation of closure, this came as a shock to most people.
One reason was that there wasn't any room for expansion yet now we have a 10-storey monstrosity which the majority of people in Prestwich were against.
I hope people still support Iceland and Marks & Spencer, and remember how they were treated by Sainsbury's the first time they were in Prestwich.
