RADCLIFFE Boro were held to a goalless draw by Wakefield-Emley in front of a poor crowd at Belle Vue.
The Boro started brightly when leading scorer Steve Foster was unlucky not to put Boro 1-0 up when his shot cleared the bar.
Emley's best chance fell to Christian Fox on 26 minutes but his long range effort was well saved by Danny Hurst diving low to his right.
Boro had a couple of notable chances just before half time.
Danny Hooper's snapshot from 20 yards flew wide on 38 minutes and a Steve Foster header on 40 minutes from six yards out was easy for Andy Woods diving to his right-hand side.
In the second half, both teams attempted to up the tempo.
On 47 minutes, Steve Kenworthy sent in a low shot but saw his effort
tipped wide by Hurst and, on 48, an Andy Wright corner found Marc Thompson but his close range header went over the bar.
Radcliffe almost took the lead in the 57th minute. Rod Thornley found himself clean through on goal but Woods came out well to make a good save.
With 58 minutes on the clock, Andy Heald's low shot was well saved by Woods and, two minutes later, Thornley struck the outside of the post with a driven shot from 25 yards as Radcliffe enjoyed the better of the chances.
Emley introduced Mick Norbury into the game midway through the second half and this seemed to result in a marked improvement in their performance.
On 81 minutes, Fox's free kick was met by substitute Matthew Hoyle but his glancing header flew wide, whilst at the other end, a minute later, Steve Foster saw two efforts in quick succession be superbly deflected wide by Woods.
A Fox corner on 83 minutes was met by Norbury at the far post but his header struck the top of the cross bar.
Two minutes later, Norbury was put in by Damien Reeves but his shot from 15 yards curled wide.
Norbury had further chances with headers on 87 minutes and in injury time, but saw both go over the bar as the game fizzled out into a 0-0 draw.
Boro will be kicking themselves for not putting away any of their chances, a situation they have found themselves in every game this season.
