THE last meeting of Cockey Moor WI on Monday, November 14, was the AGM, when president Fran Walker and the current committee were unanimously re-elected.
The committee has worked hard arranging days out, providing interesting speakers, and not forgetting our regular dining excursions, which are always enjoyed.
Lots of things have been arranged before Christmas, including a day out at Capes Thorn Hall, a Christmas meal at Bolton College, and the Christmas party.
Mrs Pam Wright was our speaker for the evening, telling us about her unique business enterprise, Designing Wedding Accessories.
We were all fascinated by her technique for the preservation of fresh flowers, such as wedding bouquets and specimen flowers, which after treatment could be framed. It was all very interesting and a vote-of-thanks was given by Hazel Uppiah.
The next meeting will be our Christmas party with entertainment included. Quickly following this it will be new year, for which you have our best wishes for a happy and peaceful one.
As usual, our meetings will be at 7.30pm on every second Monday of the month. You will be made most welcome if you would like to join us at the Unitarian School Hall, Ainsworth. BC
