THE new Forever Bury board met in the Gigg Lane Social Club last Thursday night and started getting down to the business of running the organisation with a group of new faces.
The first talking point was the agenda which was set out with a list of timings for each item, the idea being to stop meetings dragging on late into the evenings.
It is also hoped to give time for a social gathering at the bar when non-board members can join in the general discussions and the various groups of helpers can be gathered together.
On the subject of helpers, members, supporters and the general public will all be welcomed at the Christmas Fair being held from noon on Sunday (November 27) at the Bury FC Social Club, Gigg Lane.
As well as Father Christmas and Robbie the Bobby, some of the Bury players have promised to attend and there will be stalls selling Christmas gifts, toys, homemade cakes, a bottle stall, white elephant stall and all sorts of attractions for the young ones.
Previously the Bulletin has stated that this event is a Forever Bury promotion.
Apparently, that was incorrect although, of course, it does have the support and backing of the supporters group.
It is actually a voluntary effort by a small group of supporters who, while they are FB members, are acting on their own initiative in this case.
That does not mean they will not welcome offers of assistance at the Fair or of goods which can be offered for sale.
Supporters planning to stock up their beer supplies for Christmas are reminded that Forever Bury beer will be on sale at Ramsbottom Farmers' market on Sunday December 11, together with other FB merchandise.
Then there is the sponsored walk to Spotland for the evening match against Rochdale on Wednesday December 28, starting out from Gigg Lane at 4pm.
