ST Gabriel's RC High School in Bury has been acting as an educational ambassador.
The school has been doing its bit to encourage goodwill and understanding between pupils across Europe by hosting this year's Comenius Conference, as part of a partnership with schools in France, Norway, Romania and Spain.
The Comenius project aims to help schools to strengthen the European dimension on their curriculum. Schools are helped to build links across Europe, developing an understanding of other countries and cultures.
Visiting teachers and their pupils were given a warm welcome by St Gabriel's and treated to a taste of the best the region has to offer.
Andrea Burns, who organised the visit along with Helen Mather, said: "Hosting the Comenius Conference has been a great opportunity for staff and pupils to show our visitors the aspects of our lives and culture of which we are most proud, while at the same time learning about the way other people live and think.
"The whole ethos of our school is based on tolerance and understanding of others, and the Comenius project is a wonderful way for children to engage with and learn from other children by sharing aspects of their everyday lives and getting a historical perspective on their culture."
An action-packed weekend included guests sampling Lancashire hotpot, regional folk songs, a walk in the Lakes and a tour of Old Trafford.
The bright lights of Blackpool made a brilliant festive finale to the weekend's excursions
