RIVINGTON and Blackrod High School is one of the eight UK organisations named as this year's Investors in People Champions.
The school was advised by Bolton-based business support organisation ChamberLink, which provides business support to more than 30,000 business across Greater Manchester.
The Investors in People Champions programme recognises employers that have boosted the performance of their organisations through the way they manage and develop their employees.
In addition to Rivington and Blackrod High School, this year's champions include Thomson Directories and Prudential UK.
John Baumber, executive principal of Rivington and Blackrod High School, said: "We are overjoyed to have received this award. It recognises our commitment and total dedication to our staff and their value to us. We are, as an organisation, committed to learning and developing and this award will enable us to share our good practice with other organisations.
"Being the best we can for our own staff is our core strategy for delivery of sustained quality education.
"Our work now supports and challenges a range of partners."
