I WOULD like to point out how Bolton Council on the one hand is trying very hard to save costs and on the other is spending thousands of pounds of tax payers' money.
The open top green recycling box is not of an adequate size. Open tops means vermin are attracted to the contents not to mention wind and rain causing rubbish to get wet and be blown everywhere.
My suggestion is to make the green boxes twice as big, fit wheels and a hinged lid and then the people will respect what you are trying to achieve.
In terms of wasting tax payers money I also feel, and I do believe I speak for many people who live and work in the community, it is such a waste having notices and leaflets printed in other languages like Urdu and Gujarati.
As a British Muslim, it feels that the council is trying too hard to make us fit in.
The Asian community is well established and any members who have difficulty in speaking, reading and writing English - and there are very few members like these - there is always family and friends to help them.
