CASH and clothing for survivors of the Asian earthquake has been the priority recently for the Rotary Club of Prestwich and Whitefield.
The group raised £800 to donate to the International Aid Trust, which will be given to earthquake victims.
And with the help of Rotarian Charanjit Singh Heera, the club has arranged a container full of warm and waterproof clothing to be sent to Pakistan and India.
There are 20,000 items in total, which Mr Heera - who is in the clothing trade - and his family have managed to collect.
Club president Julian Roscoe said: "The area has been experiencing heavy rainfall lately which means jackets are much needed by those who have lost their homes. Initially the Rotary Club donated 100 jackets and so did Mr Heera but now we have 20,000 garments to send in a large container."
The container will be transported by International Aid Trust, in Preston, and distributed by Rotarians abroad.
