LAST year after Remembrance Sunday, I was moved to write to you regarding the level of traffic noise around the towns war memorial.
What a difference a year makes.
This Remembrance Day there was no traffic and no noise, therefore people attending the service could pay there respects in a fittingly dignified manner.
May a take this opportunity on behalf of all attending the service to thank our civic dignitaries, the town council, the police, the Royal British Legion, and the Rotary Club of Westhoughton, for making this possible and ensuring our Remembrance Day service went without a hitch.
